In the production process of various graphite electrodes and graphite products, ingredient is a very important process. The design and operation of ingredients have a significant impact on the quality of finished products and the yield of finished products in processes such as molding, roasting, and graphitization. The ingredient design includes the following content:
(1) Select raw materials and the proportion of different types of raw materials.
(2) Determine the particle size composition of aggregates (i.e. the proportion of different particles).
(3) Determine the amount of binder (usually medium temperature asphalt). Some products need to adjust the softening point of asphalt.
A mature ingredient design for the production of a certain graphite electrode variety and specification is summarized through continuous improvement in long-term production practice. The particle composition and binder dosage of aggregates vary for each product when produced using different raw materials. Therefore, when the raw materials are different from other processes and equipment, the ingredient design cannot be copied and applied.
