(1) Wet graphite electrodes should be dried before use. Remove the foam plastic protective cap from the spare electrode hole and check whether the internal thread of the electrode hole is complete.
(2) Clean the surface and internal threads of the spare graphite electrode with compressed air that is free of oil and water, avoiding cleaning with steel wire balls or metal brush gauze.
(3) Carefully screw the connector into the electrode hole at one end of the spare electrode, without colliding with the thread. Screw the graphite electrode hanger (preferably made of graphite material) into the electrode hole on the other end of the spare electrode.
(4) When lifting graphite electrodes, place a soft object under one end of the spare electrode joint to prevent ground damage to the joint; After using the lifting device to penetrate into the lifting ring of the lifting device, lift the electrode steadily to prevent electrode loosening or collision with other fixing devices.
(5) Hang the spare electrode above the graphite electrode to be connected, align it with the electrode hole, and slowly lower it: rotate the spare electrode to rotate and lower the spiral hook together with the electrode.
(6) When the two graphite electrode end faces are 1020mm apart, clean the exposed parts of the electrode end faces and the joint again with compressed air. When completely lowering the electrode at the end, do not use too much force, otherwise violent collision may cause damage to the threads of the electrode hole and joint.
(7) Use a torque wrench to tighten the spare electrode until the end faces of the two electrodes are in close contact (the correct connection gap between the electrode and the joint is less than 0.05mm)
(8) The graphite electrode holder must be placed between two white protective wires. The graphite electrode holder and interface must be regularly cleaned to maintain good contact with the electrode. The cooling water jacket of the clamping clamp should be tightened to prevent water leakage.
(9) To avoid graphite electrode breakage, insulation materials should not be placed in the furnace. The working current of graphite electrodes must comply with the allowable current of the electrodes in the instruction manual
(10) To avoid electrode breakage, place the larger material in the lower half and the smaller material in the upper half
(11) If the two ends of the graphite electrode have poor contact or come into contact under overpressure, it may cause adverse effects.
