Production of graphite electrode roasting process

Baking is one of the heat treatment processes in the industrial production of graphite electrodes and graphite products. The roasting of formed raw products is carried out indirectly in the roasting furnace using materials such as coke powder (or quartz sand) as protective media, under the condition of isolating air, at a certain heating rate. The length of heating time varies depending on the product variety, specifications, and the heating curve used, generally requiring 12-23 days. The maximum temperature reached by the product during roasting is 1000-1250 ℃. The roasting temperature of semi-finished products that require further graphitization can be slightly lower, but after roasting, they are used as finished products such as carbon blocks and pre baked anodes. Due to the direct impact of roasting temperature on the physical and chemical indicators of the finished products, the roasting temperature should generally not be lower than 1200 ℃.
