Graphite products, as the name suggests, refer to various graphite accessories and shaped graphite products processed by CNC machine tools on the basis of graphite raw materials. The varieties include graphite crucibles, graphite plates, graphite rods, graphite molds, graphite heat exchangers, graphite boxes, graphite rotors, and other series of graphite products.
At present, graphite products are widely used in the rare earth permanent magnet industry. The main graphite products used in this industry are sintered graphite boxes, also known as graphite boxes, graphite boats, and other names.
Firstly, let’s introduce what rare earth permanent magnet materials are and the application and usage of their graphite products in the industry. Rare earth permanent magnet material is a magnetic material made by pressing and sintering a mixture of rare earth metals such as samarium and neodymium with transition metals (such as cobalt and iron) using powder metallurgy method, and magnetizing it in a magnetic field. Rare earth permanent magnet materials are divided into samarium cobalt (SmCo) permanent magnets and neodymium iron boron (NdFeB) permanent magnets. The magnetic energy product of SmCo magnets is between 15-30MGOe, while the magnetic energy product of NdFeB magnets is between 27-50MGOe, known as the “King of Permanent Magnets” and is the highest magnetic permanent magnet material. Although samarium cobalt permanent magnets have excellent magnetic properties, they contain rare earth metal samarium with scarce reserves and expensive strategic metal cobalt. Therefore, their development is greatly limited. After years of efforts by Chinese researchers, the country has invested a large amount of funds in this industry. New rare earth transition metal and rare earth iron nitrogen permanent magnet alloy materials are being developed and may become a new generation of rare earth permanent magnet alloys. The production of magnetic materials requires the use of graphite boxes for high-temperature sintering in a vacuum furnace. At an equal temperature, the permanent magnet material is attached to the inner surface of the graphite box, and the required permanent magnet materials and alloys are ultimately extracted.
